As the start of the year is now officially behind us, it's time for us in the 'tern loop to start getting excited about this summer's intern program! I can't reveal any secrets yet, but I can tell you that things are going to be as fun filled as they were last summer.

If you're really interested in this years program, or are looking to get in anywhere else, here are few tips that helped me to get onto the team. Remember, no guarantees, just food for thought:

1. Be yourself. Seriously! If there's anything i've learned from Telligent, it's don't try and be a rockstar. When I first started at Telligent, I didn't know much about programming at all, but I stayed positive, and sure enough, everyone wanted to help and I learned more than I could possibly imagine!

2. Use ever resource you have available. Not only did I have some of the best minds in the industry to help guide me in the right direction, but the internet, and books also helped teach me things I needed to learn. Whether it's programming, or anything, look for tutorials! You aren't the only one doing what you're doing, so see if someelse has created a walk-through. Who knows, maybe someone you work with has already done so.

3. Be positive. This is a must! Never let anything get to you, and don't freak out when something happens. Instead, stay cool, and think about how to resolve the issue, or how to get where you need to be! Whether it's a deadline, or your desk is up for grabs (and yes, that is me in the picture), losing your mind is only going to make things worse, so, like I said: "Be positive!".
